Brian Notestein, Owner
Hi, I’m Brian Notestein, the owner of Purple Mountain Radon. My journey into the radon industry started with a strong desire to serve, whether in the military or now, by helping my local community. After years of experience in the tech industry and the Navy Reserve, I leveraged my technical abilities to transition into home inspections. During this time, I gained exposure to radon hazards while testing homes, which led me to obtain my Colorado state license and NRPP certification to perform radon mitigation work.
Before starting Purple Mountain Radon, I earned my bachelor’s degree in operations management & information systems and worked in the IT industry for 20 years while simultaneously serving 24 years in the Navy Reserve; where I was recalled to active duty twice, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Serving as my unit's Communications Chief, I learned the importance of precision, responsibility, and protecting others, values I carry into my radon mitigation services today. After retiring from the Navy Reserve in 2013, I continued in my IT career, but by 2020, I decided to leave that behind and become self-employed. I focused on home inspection and eventually made the transition into radon mitigation.
In addition to my Colorado state license and NRPP certification, I’m an authorized dealer in the National Radon Defense (NRD) network, a best-practice network of radon professionals. Through field training and specialized coursework from National Radon Defense University, I’ve earned the designation of NRD Certified Indoor Air Quality Specialist. This certification, along with NRD’s proven methods and resources, ensures I’m equipped with the latest techniques to provide comprehensive, effective solutions for your home’s air quality and safety.
I believe in delivering high-quality work and offering my customers the professional, reliable service they deserve. When you trust me with your home and your family’s health, you can rest assured that I’m fully committed to providing effective and long-lasting solutions. There’s no greater reward than knowing I’m helping families stay safe and healthy.
My wife and I have lived in Colorado Springs since 2012, where we enjoy exploring and hiking the beautiful mountain trails. I also enjoy music and play guitar and bass in my free time.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward a healthier future, I invite you to fill out the form on my website for a free estimate. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey toward a safer, healthier home!
