About Our Owner

Brian Notestein, Owner

Brian Notestein is certified in home inspection and has specialized training and certification in radon mitigation. Prior to starting Purple Mountain Radon, Brian had a successful career in the tech industry and the Navy Reserve. After his first enlistment in the Navy, Brian earned his bachelor’s degree in operations management and Information Systems (IT). While attending school, he enlisted in the Navy Reserve. After graduating, he then worked as a Systems Administrator and Systems Engineer in the corporate environment and for the Department of Defense.

While in the Navy Reserve, he was recalled to active duty twice. He acted as his unit's Communications Chief while serving in the Paktika province of Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. Following his deployment, he earned his master's degree in network communications management. He retired from the Navy Reserve in 2013, after 24 years of service.

Inspired by other family members who were self-employed, Brian decided to gain experience in the home improvement industry and start his own radon mitigation business. He and his wife moved to Colorado Springs in 2012. They both enjoy exploring and hiking the mountain trails. Brian also enjoys music and plays guitar and bass.
